What's happening in 2008
Family picnic: Sat. Aug. 9,
Sunset Beach.
Bring your family or a guest and join fellow
Guild members and retirees at our annual picnic at beautiful Sunset Beach in Washington County.
Located about 40 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh, Sunset Beach
offers the largest swimming pool in Western Pennsylvania,
including a water slide, as well as volleyball, horseshoes,
softball and a children's playground with a crawl-through castle.
We'll be in a different picnic shelter this year, but we'll still
provide free pool passes, food and beverages, including barbecued
chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and salads.
The picnic begins at 1 p.m., but the pool opens at noon for those
who want to cool off early. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m.
Labor Day parade: Monday, Sept. 1
Holiday party: Sat. Dec. 6,
Sassy Marie's (2nd floor).
The annual Christmas party
will be back at Sassy Marie's (the former James Street Tavern),
at 1224 James St., one block off East Ohio Street, on the North Side.
Details to follow. Off-street parking is available behind the restaurant. Dress is
casual. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be offered at no charge.
There also will be a cash bar for mixed drinks. As usual, Guild
members and retirees may bring one guest.
