Spring party to be held April 14

The Guild's annual spring party will be held Saturday, April 14, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Max's Allegheny Tavern on the North Side. There will be beer, wine, appetizers and a gift card giveaway. The party is free for Guild members and their guests. Hope to see you there!

2012 general membership meetings

The Guild holds quarterly membership meetings at the United Steelworkers Building next door to the Post-Gazette offices. This year's meetings will be held on Tuesday, March 6; Tuesday, June 5; Tuesday, Sept. 11; and Tuesday, Dec. 11. 

SUMMER FAMILY PICNIC: DATE TBD

We sponsor an annual family picnic at Windwood Park in Bradford Woods in northern Allegheny County. The facility has a sheltered picnic grove with an adjacent swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, horseshoe pit and ballfield. There are door prizes and children's games & prizes. And, there's a buffet dinner with grilled foods, salads, fruits and beverages. It's all free to our members and their families. Check back for details.

LABOR DAY PARADE 

The Pittsburgh local marches in the annual Labor Day parade through the streets of Pittsburgh. It's one of the largest parades in the country. We gather behind the Civic Arena and march along Centre Avenue, Grant Street and the Boulevard of the Allies to the reviewing stand. Afterwards, we gather in the River City Inn for a buffet luncheon and beverages. This event is for Guild members, their friends and family.
