Buffalo, NY--Meeting called to order at 9:10 a.m. by President Fisher.

Secretary’s Report: M. Vellequette, S. StepheCovarrubias to approve minutes. Passed.

President Fisher reminded locals to add their websites to the GLDC website and update the mailing list. President Fisher asked locals to keep checking the GLDC website.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Yuvonne Bruce-Webb Reported balances of $1,507.97 and $2075.58 in checking and CD, respectively. M. Webb S. Burke to accept report. Passed.

President Fisher noted seven locals in attendance. Cincinnati is on an 11-month countdown to the end of their jobs. Erie, Indy, and Youngstown also not in attendance.

Old Business: NextGen representative Erin reported that she has created a NextGen page on MySpace as a way to network between NextGen participants. Myspace.com/Guild NextGen. Delegates postponed a decision on scheduling the following NextGen meeting.

New Business: President Fisher asked Pittsburgh/Toledo/NE Ohio/Buffalo/Erie to again split a table for the Freedom Awards banquet. If locals decide to send more delegates, we can get more tables.

Human Rights Report: Natalie Hill from Pittsburgh reported that the Human Rights committee is working on getting a web page up and running. HR Committee working on budget for literature and stipends to send two members to conferences. Waiting to hear back from Guild finance committee on funding. 

Toledo Lockout: M. Webb S. Covarrubias  to donate $250 to the Toledo Council of Newspaper Unions Locked Out Worker Relief Fund. Passed.

Presidents Award: President Fisher presented the award to the Buffalo Newspaper Guild for its work in building its local.

Thank you presentation to the Buffalo Newspaper Guild for hosting this weekend.
